A-Plus Mode

A-Plus Mode is the discipline engine of Abstenence. It removes shortcuts, loopholes, and passive behaviors, creating an environment where every action matters.

  1. Closing the browser tab automatically logs you out. Your abstinence journey is personal, so fresh authentication is required each time. No endless sessions. No casual drop-ins.

  2. When the Abstinence form is created, you have a 30-minute window to complete it. If the form is not submitted within that time, the attempt is cleared on refresh. This keeps you focused and intentional from the first minute.

  3. When an Abstinence begins, a 2-day grace period is added to the duration you selected. These days are your only window to save your Pass/Fail result. If that window passes, the record is cleared on refresh. No carrying old challenges forward. No rolling progress.

  4. Every time you save 21 Abstinence records, the oldest record is automatically removed. You cannot delete individual entries — this prevents selective storytelling. However, you may clear all records at once (deletes immediately, no confirmation).
Privacy First: Your entire progress stays completely private — stored only on the browser where you start. No syncing, and no digital trail. You may take on multiple abstinence challenges at the same time using separate browsers or devices — each challenge stays independent and secure.

Browser Updates: Normal browser updates will not erase your progress. However, clearing cookies, reinstalling the browser, or using certain privacy tools will remove your progress, so keep this in mind to protect your streaks.

Can I turn off A-Plus Mode?

  • A-Plus Mode cannot be turned off. It is the default operating mode of the Abstenence web app — a strict, no-shortcuts environment built for real discipline. For users who prefer a more flexible experience, the Abstenence Book offers the same abstinence system without A-Plus Mode restrictions.
