Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 2026
Your privacy matters deeply to us at Abstenence.
Because the journey of abstaining is personal, everything we build is designed to protect your information and help you grow in confidence — not to expose your struggles.
1. What We Collect
When you sign up or use Abstenence:
- We collect only the information you choose to share — such as your email address and abstinence progress.
- We do not collect unnecessary personal data or browsing activity.
- We record your challenge selection and a consent confirmation when you start a paid challenge. This exists solely to protect you and us in the event of a payment dispute, and is never used for advertising, profiling, or shared with third parties.
2. How Your Data Is Used
We use your information solely to help you:
- Track your abstinence records and progress.
- Stay signed in securely.
- Retrieve your data when you return.
Your data is never sold, traded, or shared with anyone — not advertisers, not third parties.
3. Data Storage and Security
All your data is encrypted and stored securely.
When you close your browser tab, A-Plus Mode automatically signs you out to maintain your privacy — even from others using your device.
If you ever wish to delete your data, you can do so immediately from your account. Your profile and progress data are permanently erased from our system. Payment and consent records tied to your challenges are retained separately, as required to process payments and resolve any disputes — see our Refund Policy for details.
4. Cookies and Tracking
Abstenence uses minimal cookies — only those required for login and functionality.
We do not use tracking cookies, analytics, or ads that follow you around the web.
5. External Links
Some pages, such as those pointing to our Abstenence book on Amazon, may redirect you to trusted third-party sites.
We are not responsible for their policies, so we encourage you to review them separately.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect improvements or new features.
If we make any major changes, you’ll always be informed clearly within the app.
7. Contact
If you have any questions about your privacy or how your data is handled, you can reach us directly on our Contact Us page.
